District Heating: the energy that connects Denmark and Italy

Milan trait-d’union of district heating: on 29 September 2022 in the “Sala Mascagni” of the Hotel Andreola (Via Scarlatti 24) Denmark and Italy will hold an interesting brainstorming session on district heating and cooling.

 Danish and Italian experts will exchange informations, new developments and suggestions on the district heating sector. During the conference the Italian panorama, with a general excursus on the sector and some specific focuses on Italian systems, and the Danish experience of planning and business on networks and systems will be shown.

 District heating in Italy today (the technical, regulatory and legislative context) and important studies on the DHC development potential will be illustrated. In particular, studies commissioned by AIRU will be presented: “Evaluation of technical and economic potential of district heating in Italy. Focus on waste heat recovery and renewable energy sources integration” by Polytechnic of Milan and Polytechnic of Turin; and “District heating: efficiency and renewables at the service of decarbonisation” by Elemens.

 Danish experts will focus their talks on innovation of digitisation in district heating and low temperature and grid optimisation, showing the practical application in Danish systems and networks.

The event will conclude with a debate and exchange of ideas with all participants.
